Treasures of Gloucestershire
Chorley’s are pleased to announce their support for a summer exhibition ‘Treasures of Gloucestershire’. The exhibition which is to be held at our Prinknash Upper Gallery will
showcase the best of Gloucestershire including its landscape, its people and its traditions.
To be held over the weekend of 7th and 8th July 2012, the exhibition is being organised as part of the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire’s charitable fundraising programme for 2012. Their chosen charity is the Development Trust for Building for a New Future, Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum. The redevelopment scheme will provide additional galleries, new open access study areas and dedicated spaces for education, outreach services and arts programmes. There will also be an expanded events space and a new ground floor café and shop. The Museum has been closed since April 2011 and is scheduled to re-open in Spring 2013. For more information about this exciting project, visit the Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum website http://www.cheltenhammuseum.org.uk/
As well as around 40 items from Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum, the exhibition will showcase treasures from other Gloucestershire museums, institutions and private collections, including:
Museum in the Park, Stroud
Gallery Pangolin, Chalford
Corinium Museum, Cirencester
Prinknash Abbey
