VIEW EXHIBITION CATALOGUE

While Chorley's is known for the regular fine art and antique sales which showcase the quality of Georgian and Victorian furniture, paintings, silver and ceramics, this April we will be hosting a Spring exhibition of contemporary art entitled Emerging British Artists.

The exhibition will present works by a small group of young up-and-coming British artists working in a largely representational style. These artists include

Tom Hoar, who has worked as Artist-in-Residence for the Household Cavalry and whose portfolio has included a collection of lively paintings depicting the colourful world of Giffords Circus, well-known across Gloucestershire.

Another artist who uses equestrian subject matter is Guy Allen, who has brought a contemporary approach to the traditional art of etching; Guy's work has been accepted by the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition for the last two years.

Bronzes by Georgiana Anstruther will add a three-dimensional aspect to the exhibition; classically trained in Italy, her sculptures of animals and figures place particular emphasis on patination techniques.

The exhibition will bring a fresh and modern look to the saleroom at Prinknash and with works priced between £50 and £3,000 there should be items to suit every budget.  Selected items from Chorley's upcoming auction of antiques will also be on view around the saleroom.
